Duties
Assistant Teacher – Job Description
Purpose: To assist the lead teacher in providing a warm and nurturing environment in which the child can grow physically, emotionally and intellectually.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide the children with a safe, loving and nurturing environment.
2. Meet the children »s needs in all areas of physical, emotional, social and intellectual development.
3. Prepare with the lead teacher the weekly lesson plans and to help gather materials needed for projects.
4. Carry out appropriate and positive discipline as established by the lead teacher.
5. To see that the program goals are implemented.
6. To function and help build a supportive team.
7. Maintain a room arrangement that is safe, inviting, and interesting.
8. Be sensitive and responsive to parents and to act as a resource person for them.
9. Keep appropriate record of children »s attendance and time sheets.
10. Attend trainings and monthly staff meetings.
11. Maintain confidentiality.
12. Meet all applicable licensing regulations.
Requirements
Our ideal candidate would have classes in early childhood eduction or experience in working in child care, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

We have centers located in both Belmont and Darlington WI. We accept children from ages 6 weeks to 12 years old and are open from 5:45 A.M to 5:30 P.M. The Centers philosophy is the development of a positive self-concept in each child. We will work to encourage cooperation and appropriate behavior and to stimulate the intellectual, social, emotional and physical growth of each child. These goals will be accomplished by providing a secure, nurturing environment consisting of a variety of experiences including; small and large group and individual activities, motor skill development, quiet games or resting, reading and learning games, organized and free-choice indoor and outdoor play–all with constant awareness of each child »s abilites and special needs.
