We are looking for an Audit Associate to join our Financial Assurance team in Napier. Whether you are a Hawkes Bay local or an out-of- towner looking for a lifestyle change to the beautiful Hawkes Bay keep reading. At PwC Napier you’ll be working for an organisation with truly global reach & that makes people its priority. As an Audit Associate you will be responsible for working on various external audits with our clients. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing to the delivery of our external audit practice to clients including client relationship management and ensuring audit work is completed to the highest standards.

  • Development and execution of project plans and deliverables for the purpose of an external audit.

  • Effectively apply PwC frameworks, methodologies, and quality standards

  • Challenge issues potentially influencing the viability of new work and the potential risk effect on existing clients. Make commercially appropriate (risk/reward) recommendations in accordance with PwC’s risk management policies and procedures.

  • Take overall responsibility to ensure tasks are completed efficiently, within deadlines and all available resources are considered.

Ngā pūkenga kei a koe / Skills and experience

We are looking for an external auditor who can bring the following competencies and experience to the role:

  • At least 1 year’s previous experience in an external audit or general accounting role.

  • Demonstrate proven knowledge of accounting and financial reporting standards, emphasising understanding, for a respective industry, of business and accounting issues, and the technical accounting and financial reporting requirements

  • Proactive and demonstrate strong time management and organisational skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • The ability to critically analyse and explain complex information with clients and colleagues in a way which is easy to understand.
