Job Summary

This role provides broad communication support to a Center or Department, including managing the creation of social media, editorial and website content.
Under general guidance, this position partners with internal stakeholders to help plan and execute communications strategies to disseminate research, advocate for policies, and/or raise awareness of product or service offerings.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with faculty, staff and other internal stakeholders on dissemination strategies and tactics around research articles, products, service offerings or policy opportunities, with a view towards broader public influence and/or awareness
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to develop content and materials that support department/center goals
    • Edit, write and post blog posts and other editorial content
    • Contribute to, edit and disseminate internal and external newsletters
    • Maintain and edit website and social media content
  • May provide direction or oversight to interns

Required Education and Experience

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree

Required Experience: Two (2) years of related communications experience

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Preferred Experience:
  • Four (4) years of related communications experience
  • Previous experience in a healthcare related environment
  • Previous professional writing experience

Additional Technical Requirements

  • Intermediate proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office) including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Solid professional writing skills
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
