Courier/Package Delivery ARRMC (Lab Outreach)
Additional Position Details: FTE: 0.900000 | Full Time | Variable Hours/Variable Days
While a schedule is provided in advance – this position does require the flexibility to work variable hours and variable days – to include day, evening, and weekend hours.
Salary: Starting at $15.00 an hour and up (based on years of relevant experience). Plus, you will earn extra shift differentials for swing, night, and weekend hours:
- $1.16 extra for working between 3:00pm – 11:00pm
- $2.00 extra for working between 11:01pm and 7:00am
- $0.99 extra for working weekends
Position Summary
The Lab Courier for Asante provides courier and package delivery services for Asante hospitals and departments, Asante entities, Oregon Medical Laboratories, etc. The Lab Courier may prepare, deliver and pick up medical reports; supplies; x-ray films; pharmaceuticals; money bags; and lab specimens in client offices and other health care facilities. Duties may also include maintaining inventory and supplies in the Laboratory storeroom. Depending on the routes, candidates must have the flexibility to work early morning, day, evening, and weekend hours. Some holiday shifts may also be required. Shift differentials apply for evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate as needed for the position is required
Experience
- At least 3 months of previous work experience is required
- Knowledge of Southern Oregon region, preferred
- Previous experience in a health care setting, preferred
Licensure/Certifications
- Possession of a valid Driver »s License with proof of safe driving record for the past ten years and proof of auto insurance is required
- Must have Oregon Driver »s License within 30 days of moving to Oregon (if applicable)
Working Conditions
- This position requires the ability to frequently and repetitively lift items up to 20 pounds as a regular and vital part of the job. Heavier items (up to 40lbs) are lifted and transported on a less frequent basis. Those items include picking up and delivering centrifuges or boxes of supplies. The ability to bend, stretch, twist and perform other awkward physical movements is also required. Must also be comfortable driving in inclement weather.
