About The Role

This is a unique opportunity to join a relatively new and exciting department: the Centre of Excellence in Trade Compliance, Customs and Logistics of Alliance Healthcare. The Customs, Trade Compliance and Logistics Executive will be responsible for the customs administration and logistics (i) when shipping from the EU (especially Greece and the Balkans / East Europe) into Great Britain (ii) moving goods from Great Britain into Northern Ireland (iii) shipping to Gibraltar and the Channel Islands/Isle of Man and (iv) the Rest of the World territories.

This is a central role supporting effective daily links across many departments. The successful candidate will be working closely with the Customs and Trade Compliance Manager and one more Executive but will have to interact (daily) with people from different departments. Also, liaising with HMRC and other Regulators, Transport Hauliers, Suppliers or customs intermediaries will be required.

About You

We would value the following attributes:

  • Ideally, studies in Accounting or Finance (however, this is not a mandatory requirement)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, friendly with a team spirit
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in an EU language is highly preferable (especially Greek or Lithuanian).
  • Capable to multitask and manage multiple activities at the same time
  • Very proactive and energetic
  • Flexible attitude, as they may have to work during bank holidays, weekends or outside the standard working hours
  • Excellent time management skills, able to work well under time-sensitive deadlines
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ideally, to have up to 2 years of experience in international logistics (however this is not a mandatory requirement as logistics training will be provided)
  • Ideally, some experience with the UK Customs Declarations Platforms and Portals, such as CDS or TSS (however this is not a mandatory requirement as customs and trade compliance training will be provided)
