Position Overview
Under direction, evaluates, revises, implements and interprets policies, procedures, licensure acts and administrative rules of designated professions for professional licensure in Licensing and Testing/Health Services Program in the Division of Professional Regulation. Represents the Department through performance of primary liaison functions with designated professional advisory boards; travels and attends board meetings to articulate Departmental policy. Receives and responds to written and verbal inquiries from the general public, registrants, applicants, associations, organizations, schools, etc., to resolve complex licensure related issues/matters. Provides input and recommendations to superior regarding operational functions. Facilitates lines of communication with various professional organizations and associations.
Job Responsibilities
- Evaluates, revises, implements, and interprets policies, procedures, licensing laws and rules of designated professions
- Represents the Department through performance of primary liaison functions with designated professional advisory boards
- Receives and responds to written and verbal inquiries from the general public, registrants, applicants, associations, organizations, schools, etc., to resolve complex licensure related issues/matters
- Provides input and recommendations to superior regarding operational functions related to licensure and re-licensure in the designated professions.
- Facilitates lines of communication with various professional organizations and associations, schools, universities, institutions, businesses, and other governmental agencies, etc., which employ registrants
- Initiates and/or revises designated professional application forms as necessary, based upon semi-annual review, legislative changes, rule changes, policies, procedures, etc., and ensures forms are updated in a timely and accurate fashion
- Assists in organizing and preparing annual program goals and objectives
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with coursework in business or public administration
- Requires one year of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization, or completion of an agency approved professional management training program
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers at least three years of experience reviewing documentation and determining eligibility based on predetermined criteria/rules
- Prefers at least two years of experience serving on a board/council or serving as a liaison to a board/council
- Prefers at least five years of experience working in a professional office environment

Education Degree
