Job Description

Applicants must submit a resume with their application.

This is responsible, difficult, and varied secretarial, office support and public contact work, often of a confidential nature, providing advanced secretarial and administrative assistance to the City’s Chief Information Officer (CIO). Work includes performing important public relations activities; researching, compiling, tabulating, and summarizing data from files and other sources; composing and typing memoranda, correspondence, and reports; performing filing and file maintenance; and may involve supervision over other clerical workers as assigned.

Salary: $21.42 – $32.59 Hourly

To Qualify

Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must:

  • Have a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Possess two years of progressively responsible experience in performing high level secretarial and other varied office support work.
  • Be proficient in the use of a personal computer.
  • Have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Be able to effectively multi-task, meet deadlines and coordinate activities across department divisions.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants:

  • Have a valid Bachelor’s degree.
  • Have experience using Oracle E-Business Suite.
  • Are able to exercise sound judgment and discretion and be a self-starter in applying and interpreting operational rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Are able to perform basic mathematical calculations quickly and accurately.
  • Have stenographic skills and extensive knowledge of business English, grammar, punctuation, spelling, public relations, and telephone etiquette.
