Posting Details: **$1,000 SIGN ON BONUS** Full Time Evening Shift Entry level position with on the job training. Description:

Responsible for multiple tasks related to processing patient room service as ordered by physicians, RD »s and other Clinical Professionals. Cross-trained to work in other areas of the department. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values.
Principle Accountabilities: % Of Time Spent
1. Processes patient meal orders using computer software, queue phone system, patient interaction and input from clinical staff. Has basic knowledge of food values and applies that knowledge to physician orders for therapeutic diets to ensure meals ordered are compliant within diet restrictions. 30%
2. Serves patient meals. Confirms accuracy of order. Adheres to patient safety protocols relative to infection prevention and control, patient identifiers, and proper documentation of actions taken during care provided. Confirms all patients have the ability to order a meal. 10%
3. Possesses information technology skills using Windows, Computriton, Cerner, Star, radio communications, fax, copiers, printers and queue phone systems. 20%
4. Facilitates good customer service experience. Interacts with nursing and clinical dietitians regarding patient issues and concerns. Adheres to scripting both on the phone and at the patient bedside to ensure consistency in meal service and delivery. 10%
5. Inventories and restocks galley supplies according to established par levels. Fill tube feeding orders. Process charges for tube feedings and supplements. 5%
6. Performs sanitation duties including but not limited to re-processing trays, dishes, small wares, carts and refuse removal. 10%
7. Maintains food safety using HACCP standards during all stages of production, storage, and service. Monitors equipment to maintain optimal freshness, and food safety at all times. 5% .
8. Maintains a safe work environment and personal safety by utilizing personal protective equipment, preventative maintenance, and reporting unsafe situations or faulty equipment. 5%
9. Maintains personal effectiveness through completion of all On-line Educational programs to meet regulatory requirements, personal growth and development. Participates in area, department and hospital goals and targets to maintain growth and development of the business and the patient experience. 5%
10. Performs other work duties as assigned to maintain productivity and meet the needs of department functions.

Education:

High school graduate or GED preferred.

Entry level position with on the job training.

Experience:

Requirements for job. 1. High school graduate or GED preferred. 2. Food sanitation certificate preferred. 3. Basic math and reading skills, excellent customer service skills, computer skills preferred, problem solving skills. The assessment, care and treatment provided by Food and Nutrition Services will be consistent with the specific age related needs of the patient. Food and Nutrition Services is competent to provide nutritional care for patient age groups including neonates/infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric adults.

Reporting Relationships (Text Only): Job Relationships: Member is a comprehensive healthcare team, including other healthcare providers, the patient, the patient »s family and significant others. Takes direction from: Supervisors, Asst. Supervisors, Director, Managers Supervised by: Supervisor-Patient Services and Sanitation Working Conditions:

Employee is required to stand and walk continuously. Employee could lift/carry a light (1-20 lbs.) to medium (21-50-lbs.) load occasionally. Employee may be required to lift over 100 lbs. with assistance. Employee is occasionally required to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, climb, and lift waist to overhead. Employee is occasionally required to reach forward and reach overhead. For repetitive action, employee is required to perform simple grasping and pushing/pulling. Employee is exposed to the following environmental conditions: temperature changes (heat, cold, wet, and damp) and noise continuously; and fumes, electrical hazards and confined to small areas frequently. (Occasionally: 1-33%, Frequently: 34-66%, Continuously: 67-100%) The most significant of duties are included but this does not exclude occasional work assignments not mentioned or developmental duties.
