Job Description

Summary:

The primary focus for this role is to Conduct Fraud Investigations and Analysis work in support of all Unsecured Lending Credit Products. From time-to-time this role may also support other lines of business as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide fraud prevention and detection support related to loan or transactional fraud activity for the Unsecured Lending business, including identifying and investigating any cross-channel exposure involving other lines of business
  • Conduct investigative research and analysis on case files, within established departmental standards. Determine the existence of motives, and methods of fraud
  • Work collaboratively with various business units to resolve risk related findings in attempts to recover loss
  • Utilize internal and external resources to identify and analyze fraud trends; make appropriate recommendations to prevent and/or minimize loss exposure to the organization
  • Conduct time-sensitive reporting to appropriate agencies and federal authorities per corporate and regulatory guidelines
  • Meet expected service levels in handling assigned case referrals, productivity, and quality expectations for this function

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in the lending industry, preferably in fraud detection and investigation, underwriting, risk management or compliance
  • Strong analytical skills combined with effective problem-solving skills are desired
  • Experience and judgment with underwriting concepts preferred. Practices and procedures may be substituted for fraud investigative experience
  • Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize responsibilities
  • Independent decision-making capabilities in addition to strong verbal and written communication skills required to communicate effectively with a wide audience preferred
  • Self-starter and have ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of the various Citi origination and servicing systems desired
  • The ideal candidate will be a flexible and creative thinker regarding continuous improvements in efficiency and process with proficient PC skills in a wide area network environment utilizing programs such as Microsoft Office
