Job Description
GENERAL DUTIES: Provide clerical and attendance record keeping for the efficient and effective operation of the school administrative offices.
Assist, where appropriate, the instructional and support staff, as well as students, parents and members of the community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate Degree or higher preferred.
- One to two years related experience
- TB test if required.
- Successful BCII and FBI report
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Ensure safety of students.
- Prepare correspondence and other typing duties as may be directed by the Supervisor or designee.
- Assist in the scheduling of appointments, conferences, etc.
- Prepare both statistical and routine reports, memoranda, bulletins, etc.
- Coordinate maintenance, repair and supplies for operations
- Monitor and manage records and reports
- Perform duties of receptionist by answering telephone, recording appropriate messages, sorting/distributing mail and greeting visitors
- Operate and maintain all office equipment including copier, fax machine and computer
- Assist in the maintenance of the uniform filing system for all information and other pertinent data, including electronic document storage
- Handle routine correspondence independently
- Input information into and retrieve information from computer
- Open office at the beginning of each work day
- Prepare correspondence and other word processing duties as may be directed by the Supervisor
- Instruct new employees in procedures and duties
- Open and sort mail daily
- Keep a record of visitors to the building
- Make contacts with the public with tact and diplomacy
- Process request forms such as bus requests, professional leave, vacation, personal leave, and sick leave
- Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g., custodial papers, IEP’s, birth certificates, grades, medication and health restriction, court documents and papers
- Utilize Windows 10, Google Apps and Microsoft Office applications
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- May occasionally be exposed to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
- Must follow all safety guidelines for bloodborne pathogens.
- Must occasionally climb steps to get to various working areas in the building.
- Must occasionally lift items weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Repetitive hand motion (key boarding).
COMPENSATION RANGE: Per Negotiated Contract
