Job Description

We are recruiting for an experienced Admissions Officer to join one of London »s leading Universities. If you have previous experience of Admissions, gained within a Higher Education institute, we »d love to hear from you!

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Undergraduate Admissions Operations

  • Support the academic selection of UCAS applications. This will involve rejecting applications which do not satisfy Faculty admissions criteria; coordinating the referral of applications to a team of academic Admissions Tutors for consideration; reviewing offer recommendations made; linking reject decisions to an appropriate code and transmitting all decisions to UCAS via SITS.
  • Administrative support to the National Admissions Test for Law, including matching test results with applications and ensuring that essays are suitably graded by Admissions Tutors.
  • Determine the fee status of applicants in line with fee status legislation, requesting official documentation and additional information where necessary.
  • Create Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) visa requests to all candidates who require a Tier 4 General Student Visa in line with UKVI requirements.
  • Verify results to determine whether applicants have satisfied their offer conditions, including results received via UCAS and non-standard results forwarded directly by applicants.
  • Work closely with the WP Officer to support the processing of WP and access applications and activities.
  • Provide administrative support to the application process for bursaries.

Offer Holder and Open Days

  • Coordinate language interviews for applicants on programmes.
  • Represent the Faculty at Open Days.
  • Coordinate Offer Holder Days (online and in-person), to include the following:
  • Setting up links for online Offer Holder Days
  • Recruiting a team of student helpers to assist with the running of each event
  • Organising guest speakers.

Information & Advisory Service

  • Provide a high-quality customer service to applicants and students enrolled on a programme involving study abroad, including the daily management of the Admissions inbox.
  • In collaboration with others, ensure admissions recruitment and marketing resources are regularly reviewed and updated, including admissions webpages and prospectus information.
  • Advise academic Admissions Tutors and senior stakeholders regarding admissions criteria, non-standard applications and UCAS regulations.
  • Advise external stakeholders regarding application and selection processes including schools, UCAS, LNAT and partner institutions abroad.
  • Student Induction: in collaboration with admissions and programme colleagues provide support to the preparation and delivery of communications, online resources and welcome events intended to support new students in their transition.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Experience of working in an administrative capacity within the Higher Education Sector.
  • Experience of working in an Admissions role within the Higher Education sector.
  • Knowledge of UK and international qualifications.
  • Excellent IT skills, including knowledge of and evidence of experience using database packages, Excel, Word, web browsers, and email packages, with a willingness to learn about and use new software.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage a large and varied workload.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a conscientious approach to checking the accuracy of information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to explain complex procedures and policy to a wide audience.
  • The ability to confidently prioritise competing demands and changing objectives to meet specific deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that enable the post holder to develop effective working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends
