Job Details

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Suffolk County Council (SCC) Public Health and Communities Team as a Health Protection Lead based at Endeavour House, Ipswich with hybrid working options including some working from home.

We have a successful track record, including highly innovative approaches to commissioning public health services; strong relationships with Suffolk’s voluntary and community sector and public sector partners; and a clear focus on using data and evidence to drive action.

As Health Protection Lead, you will be responsible for delivering and assuring the Director of Public Health that the Health Protection priorities and responsibilities of the Directorate are fulfilled. You will work closely with the Director of Public Health, Lead Consultant in Health Protection and other Public Health Consultants and partner agencies. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm and commitment preferably with a professional qualification in a clinical area, health protection or environmental health or equivalent experience. You will have a detailed knowledge of all aspects of Health Protection together with the ability to interpret and communicate health protection data and concepts in a clear way to both healthcare professionals and non-specialist audiences.
