About the Opportunity
JOB SUMMARY
The Microsoft 365 Administrator facilitates the delivery of reliable and consistent Microsoft messaging, collaboration, and productivity services for the entire institution. Applies comprehensive and in-depth working knowledge of messaging and collaboration technology, primarily Microsoft 365 suite, to ensure customer satisfaction. This role participates in managing and monitoring the day to day operation of Microsoft 365 environment including but not limited to customer relations, support, technology and contributing to technical projects/service enhancements. To ensure that essential services are provided to the university community, the employee will be required to work outside their regular working hours as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor »s degree in Computer Science, or related discipline
  • Master »s degree in Computer Science, or related discipline is a plus.
  • Expertise in MS365 products including Exchange online, Sharepoint Online, Teams, One Drive, Yammer, Azure AD
  • Track record of supporting complex, large MS365 transformation programs including hybrid configuration and IAM integration
  • Aware of best practice security approaches for information protection in a cloud environment
  • Excellent customer service
  • Experience with IT change management processes/ITIL
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
MS 365 Support and Administration
  • Monitor mail-routing platforms and resolve or escalate identified issues
  • Handle routine customer service requests (debugging requests, new shared mailboxes/distribution lists, list administration) within established SLAs, as a Tier 2/3 resource.
  • Recommend and/or develop methods to automate/streamline repetitive administration tasks (ie Powershell scripting)
  • Collaborate with Customer Service team to share knowledge with them to enhance their ability to resolve incoming issues at first call.
  • Serve as key contact with product vendors (i.e. Microsoft) to open issues, provide information as requested by vendor, and drive those issues to resolution.
Product /Project/Service Management
  • Keep abreast of Microsoft MS365 product feature releases
  • Participate in rollouts of new/enhanced features
  • Serve as a resource to projects that require MS365 expertise
  • Work closely with ITS partners, particularly in Customer Service, Licensing, and IT Security, to ensure the product suite is being operated in a secure and license-compliant way.
