You will be working for a well-established and growing East Asian grocery business.
We currently operate from a physical brick-and-mortar store and a small warehouse both located in Tower Hamlets.
We are offering a part-time opportunity where you will join a young, friendly and hard-working team. Our goal is to make Vmart the future go-to East Asian supermarket online and offline.
You will be working 3 days a week ideally from Tuesday to Thursday between 10 am to
3 pm. Hours may vary depending on the workload required to complete, this may mean an extra hour or an extended work day (optional).
The main duty of this role will be packaging and labelling different types of Asian goods ranging from instant noodles, sweets, alcohol, seasoning goods and more. In addition, support the team to fulfil online orders and maintain the warehouse operation. You are expected to be able to complete all online orders on the same day and be able to finish required tasks quickly at a high standard.
Note: Although it may be a simple packer’s role there are opportunities to learn different parts of the business. Therefore, this role will require someone who can work well in a team, is hard working, willing to learn and take full ownership of their role.
You will also be required (if needed) to carry out other duties such as helping with the physical store.
If you feel that you can take on this challenge and you’re someone who wants to join a driven team. Aside from the monetary value, we will be able to give you some real work experience, teach you about the Asian grocery business and hopefully help you develop personal skills (hard and soft).
This role can also turn from a temporary job to a permanent job.
The Role:
- Fulfil online orders. Retrieve the items needed from the inventory, check that they are in good condition, wrap them securely, and pack them for shipping.
- labelling products and packing boxes
- Unloading Supplies and checking goods
- Maintain, organise and keep warehouse clean
- Ability to spend long periods of time on their feet
- Heavy lifting boxes ranging from small to large
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Ability to use barcode scanner and identify goods in the warehouse (optional)
- Ability to lift 20kg safely
- Ability to safely and correctly stack goods on pallets for bulk shipments
- Good attention to detail
- Must work well in a team
- Good reliability and time management
- Ability to accurately communicate
Immediate starts available following a paid trial period of 2 days (10am – 3pm)
