Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced physiotherapist who has a passion to work with Older People to cover a 12 month maternity leave as an advanced practitioner in our Health Care of Older People Team.
The service covers 10 wards across the QMC and City campus of NUH, including an frailty admissions unit .
The role will include working closely with therapy and MDT colleagues alongside the Therapy Clinical Lead for HCOP. You will work flexibly in conjunction with the Band 7 team in the daily line management and coordination of the service.
You will be required to support assistants and qualified physiotherapists with teaching and training as well as managing your own complex caseload .
You will be expected to work collaboratively with the senior leadership team to ensure adherence to national guidelines, best therapy practice, and employ an evidence-based approach to implement service development.
There are multiple opportunities for training and development within this role.
NUH supports 7 day working; you will be required to work flexibly across seven days to support out of hours rosters and training will be given as necessary.

You will need excellent communication skills to facilitate close working relationships with members of the HCOP MDT and Therapy teams
Alongside strong clinical skills you will require skills in audit, service evaluation and development, as well as organisational and time management skills and the ability to motivate yourself and others.
You will assist in the management and support of all other grades of staff within the wider HCOP physiotherapy team allowing you to develop your leadership, managerial and teaching skills.
You will support students on their clinical placements.

- BSc Hons (or equivalent) Physiotherapy ploma or degree in relevant qualificatio
- Full Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC) registration
- Recognised post-graduate training relevant to specialty preferably including MSc or completed modules
