Job overview
We are increasing our clinical skills and simulation trainers significantly and have received funding for several new posts – band 6 practice trainers to work across the NCA training and supporting staff to provide the best care for patients.
You should have interest in critical care and posses a wide range of clinical skills and an interest in teaching, training and supporting staff to be the best for patients. You should be an experienced registered nurse or registered health professional for example ODP . Enhanced Care and Trauma experience desirable.
Fixed term contracts or secondments until March 2024
- Car driver essential
- Team player and flexibility essential
- Deliver clinical skills and simulation training to multidisciplinary staff
- Deliver enhanced care training to staff
- Clinicals skills include tracheostomy, ECG, venepuncture and cannulation
- Deliver courses that improve patient care for example sepsis, deteriorating patient
- Maintain meticulous records
- Support staff with learning needs
- Complete a learning needs analysis
- Liaise with all key stakeholders
- Improve the patient experience
Main duties of the job
- Teaching and training of clinical staff in a variety of clinical skills and simulation across the NCA – Trauma/ Enhanced Care
- Developing courses to respond to patient and staff needs
- Evaluating courses and making changes as needed
- Participating in peer review
- Improve the patient experience

- Delivering a wide variety of clinical skills and simulations training across the NCA – Trauma and Enhanced Care
- Maintaining training records
- Supporting staff to deliver high quality patient care
- Completing a learning needs analysis
- Providing reports
- Leasing with all key stakeholders
- Reviewing and improving clinical skills and simulation courses
- Developing new clinical courses to meet service needs
- Delivering ward based training
