Working as part of the operations and production team at Glenrothes, the Press Setter is responsible for the safe setting and operation of power presses and/or brake press. They must ensure all machines are set and completed promptly to the correct tolerances whilst following all internal safety and quality procedures. They must have the ability to work from engineered drawings and use all measuring equipment.
Responsibilities
- Running and setting of power and brake presses
- Material handling-loading and unloading of sheet steel and blanks
- Ensuring daily production targets are met
- TPM checks as required
- Booking production data and OEE onto ERP systems
- Ensuring production and scrap records are maintained
- Using a pedestrian and counter balance forklift (business will support with licences)
- Aiding with the de-bugging of new tooling
- Improving existing tooling and setting processes
- Ensuring quality control procedures are adhered to
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Always looking to improve production output, quality and processes
- Ensuring all company procedures are followed
- Updating any incorrect quality plans and reporting any drawing issues
Experience/Skills/Attributes:
- The ability to work well under pressure

- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable in being able work alone and/or within a team environment, contributing and sharing best practices, resources and ideas in order to continually improve
- The ability to work to set standards and procedures
- Computer/IT literacy
- Experience in manufacturing and/or press shop preferred
Additional Information
Full Time Rotational Dayshift/Backshift, 40 hours per week – Part time job share options can be available.
Operational hours 6am – 10.30pm Monday to Thursday/ 6am – 2pm Friday
A Shift: 6am – 2pm Monday to Friday
B Shift: 2pm – 10.30pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 2pm – 6pm
(Entry level £10.72 per hour, completion of training £11.72 per hour)
