Job Description

We are seeking a Principal Library Assistant to join a team responsible for acquisitions of the Bodleian Libraries’ materials, based within the Collections and Resource Description Department of the Bodliean Libraries.
You will deal with both print and electronic resources orders and incoming deliveries acquired by purchase and donation from all over the world for the Central Bodleian (Acquisitions Services), and for all other individual libraries with the Bodleian Libraries Groups.
You will have experience of working with structured and financial data and enjoy methodical precise work requiring high level of attention to detail.
A flexible approach is necessary, as is the ability to work both independently and co-operatively with colleagues. Good written and spoken communication skills are essential as well as excellent numeracy skills for dealing with financial data.
This role involves lifting and moving books as well as pushing trolleys and using kick-stools.
This is a permanent, full-time position, working 36.5 hours per week.
