The Programmer I position is to create and/or modify programs as assigned, including the preparation of related object and system-level documentation. Assist in the analysis and development of relational database systems. Provide operational support to these systems as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- A 4-year college degree in computer science or information technology required. Equivalent job-related experience in similar roles will be considered;
- Additional education in programming such as a Microsoft certification strongly preferred;
- At least one year of training in or experience with information systems and programming;
- Client/Server development experience;
- Database control and access methods;
- Good knowledge of programming languages and technologies;
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases;
- Program development/testing aides;
- Mobile Development coursework or experience is helpful;
- May be required to work irregular and extended hours as needed.
Essential Functions
- Write code needed to create and/or modify system objects;
- Assist with the testing and implementation of systems and system objects;
- Maintain up to date knowledge of IS platforms, environments and related systems, development languages, and tools in use at White Castle;
- Assist the Operations and Technical Services Group in the resolution of operational problems;
- Assist with the preparation of documentation on assigned new systems and/or objects or modifications to existing systems and/or objects.
