Job Description

The Re-Engagement Specialist will be responsible for identifying students at risk of dropping out and students who have dropped out in this past year in order to assist them with meeting their graduation requirements. The Re-Engagement Specialist will work directly with the Bartlett High School Administration, Student Services Department Guidance, Teachers, Staff, Family Liaison and Webster families to identify and support students who are at risk of dropping out of school. The Re-Engagement Specialist will collaborate with Bartlett High School to implement a tiered intervention system to improve student engagement and success. The Re-Engagement Specialist will aid students in navigating educational systems and work with each student/family to develop a graduation and post-graduation plan.

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: ?Partner with guidance counselors and administrators to identify school based strategies and solutions to address dropout prevention and tier one intervention supports?Monitor and track student progress towards graduation and work with the students Guidance counselor to develop a graduation, post-graduation plan and/ or a path to a diploma or certificate wherever appropriate?Use PowerSchool to monitor data on student attendance and progress towards graduation?Conduct home and or work visits to re-engage students who have dropped out?Review prior year data on drop outs and work with Guidance Department to re-engage students and develop plans for individuals who have dropped out of Bartlett High School?If virtual coursework in recommended for a student, assist BHS with developing a transition plan for monitoring and supporting the student?Monitor students progress in their learning; when necessary, act as the liaison between the student and all educational systems (teachers, administrators)?Establish and sustain partnerships with community agencies and work to connect both students and families to support services that will help to address educational barriers?Visit students and families in their home or in the community to review their graduation and / or post-graduation plan while ensuring they are aware of all community resources?Develop comprehensive graduation and/ or post-graduation plans for each student at risk for dropping out of school, in collaboration with the Bartlett High School Administration, Guidance and Teachers. ?Conduct exit interviews for students and families who are at risk of dropping out of Bartlett High School, or who have dropped out this past year. These meetings will include the Building Principal and Guidance. Thoroughly coach students in collaboration with the Building Principal and Guidance through all available resources and channels to remain enrolled and engaged?Support the dropout intervention re-design work by establishing a set of academic and social emotional interventions and establish the tools, procedures, and processes for providing the interventions.
