Job Description

Barnet School is a PreK-8 school that sits upon 90 acres of land. The school accesses the outdoor environment as a means for students to gain academic skills. We seek a final talented and enthusiastic teacher to join our K-Grade 8 students in the classroom with a large emphasis on reading. This position is a reading intervention teaching position that will work in small groups and one-on-one with students.

The entire school year is only 185 work days for teachers.Classroom experience with literacy is a priority. A desire to work in a co-teaching environment as part of a team, with a willingness to take part in the Educational Support Team, IEP, curriculum work, and other professional meetings. Barnet School is a PBIS school, the right candidate will have a firm understanding of Responsive Classroom and PBIS. The candidate should have the ability to create a classroom environment based upon the principles of differentiated instruction, positive classroom climate, and high-quality use of technology.

We have a strong MTSS framework and would appreciate having a team member join who if familiar with data-based decision-making. We seek a teacher who is collaborative in nature and has an eagerness to work closely with special educators and classroom teachers. Above all, the candidate for this position needs to possess a mindset that all students can and will learn and be successful.This position follows the Caledonia Cooperative Education Association Collective Bargaining Agreement which includes but is not limited to paid time off of 15 sick days, 4 personal days, bereavement days and professional development days, teachers work 185 days in a year, tuition reimbursement for 6 or 9 credits, $60,000 in life insurance for free, delta dental insurance single coverage for free, Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance and the board pays $1900 towards the out of pocket cost of $2500.
