As a Rough Sleeper Navigator you will provide a comprehensive, proactive and intensive intervention package to individuals who have multiple complex needs and who are verified as sleeping rough. The aim of the role is to secure suitable accommodation for these individuals working in partnership with the outreach team and the Rough Sleeper Coordinator.

The successful candidate should have knowledge of homeless legislation and have experience of working with those who have experienced homelessness. You should be aware of the challenges vulnerable people face and have a caring nature whilst also being able to deal with difficult situations.

Please note this role will require working as part of a rota to cover the Homelessness Out of Hours Service.

Here in Sunderland we are diversifying how we help and support people who become homeless. We have realigned the Housing Options Team to ensure the team is well placed to meet the needs of all people who are street homeless and those threatened with homelessness. We will work to ensure that all move to and sustain independent living.

This post is exempt from the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to a DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
