An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Diabetes clinician to join the Department of Post-Qualifying Healthcare Practice, within the School of Nursing and Midwifery, at Birmingham City University. The Department of Post-Qualifying Healthcare Practice is a thriving, innovative and dynamic environment that aims to provide high-quality CPD for the NHS and international health workforce.

This Senior Lecturer role will play a pivotal role in working within the diabetes education team who leads the MSc in Advancing Diabetes Care, an innovative online program being delivered in the UK and internationally.

Joining an existing team of academics, you will contribute to the taught delivery, assessment and support for students undertaking our online MSc Advancing Diabetes Care course & suite of online CPD modules. You will work in partnership with the Faculty team and local healthcare providers, to develop and grow the future diabetes care workforce. This post is substantive and applications from candidates seeking part-time hours are welcome.

You must be a registered Health Care Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration with experience working both clinically with people with diabetes and also delivering postgraduate education in diabetes care. You need to be able to demonstrate evidence of on-going professional development and also hold a Master’s degree or higher in a clinically relevant subject. Possession of a PgCert Education or equivalent is an essential requirement for this post. You will also be required to demonstrate clinical currency within the speciality of diabetes care.
