We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Senior Policy Advocacy & Programmes Advisor. We need you to play a key role in the delivery and approach of CRUK’s International Cancer Prevention (ICP) strategy, by being the CRUK expert in relation to this preventative measure in low and middle-income countries for the assigned cancer prevention area, in this case Tobacco Control.
About the team
As the largest charitable funder of cancer research in the world, Cancer Research UK is at the forefront of the global fight against the disease. From the national to the global level, we aim to make discoveries in cancer that aim to unlock new and better ways to beat it, translate scientific discoveries into interventions that benefit everyone, and partner with organisations to have the biggest possible impact.
Beyond research, we have a duty as a world-leading cancer organisation to use our knowledge of developing and advocating for successful cancer prevention policies in the UK to support global progress; especially where the cancer burden and gaps in prevention and treatment are the greatest.
CRUK’s Global Team works to deliver on these global aims. Through our engagement with European and Global affairs, we progress improvements in cancer prevention and translate them into meaningful policies to benefit patients in the UK, Europe, and internationally.
Our International Cancer Prevention (ICP) programme aims to reduce the burden of cancer in low and middle-income countries (LMICs)- where by 2030, it is expected that 75% of all cancer deaths will occur. Through the ICP programme researchers and advocates all over the world champion policies that will increase the number of girls vaccinated against HPV and reduce the consumption of tobacco.
This work is underpinned by our partnerships, which mobilise and maximise our programmes and advocacy to achieve greater impact.
