Job Description

Job title: Shipping / Receiving Clerk

BG/BU: AFA/FNA, Amcor Flexibles Americas/Flexibles North America

Reports to (Title): Supply Chain Manager

1. Job Overview

The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments. They will prepare items for shipment which could include selecting from inventory, transporting, assembling, addressing, and stamping of material. Receiving of material which could include unpacking, verifying, recording and transporting to inventory locations.

2. Job Dimensions

This role is primarily applied to warehouse but can be integrated with plant shippers and receivers with all inbound and outbound shipments.

3. Principal Accountabilities

Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments including work orders, bill of ladings, shipping orders, tracking weight, charges, space availability, damages and discrepancies for reporting, accounting and record keeping purposes.
Prepare items for shipment which could include assembling, addressing, labelling merchandise or material
Pack seal label and affix postage to prepare material for shipping using work devises such as hand tools and stretch wrapping equipment
Receive, unpack, verify, and record incoming merchandise or material and arrange for the transportation of products.
Examine contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipments
Deliver or route material to warehouse areas or departments using work devices such as hand truck or forklift.
Cleans shipping and receiving area during shift and at transitions.
Other duties as assigned.

6. Qualifications/Requirements

6.1 Formal Qualifications and Experience

Knowledge and Experience

3 + years forklift experience
Computer and Software knowledge
Experience working in a warehouse / manufacturing environment

Education and Certifications

High School diploma or equivalent required
Fork Lift Operator Certification preferred

6.2 Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Behaviours

Job Specific skills and abilities

Ability to operate heavy moving machinery safely and efficiently
Ability to sit and stand for up to 12 hours per shift
Ability to twist, turn or bend to move material up to 50 lbs
Ability to push, pull, and lift material up to 50 lbs
Ability to multitask and prioritize work load appropriately
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Good computer skills / Microsoft Office programs
Ability to work well with others / self-motivated
