The Special Investigator has responsibility for internal investigations in the US and Canada and supports investigations in other regions as requested. This role is part of the global Compliance, Ethics, and Integrity Office Special Investigation (SI) team with responsibility to conduct investigations of allegation(s) of violations of law and company policies, as well as unethical behavior. This position requires an individual with the highest integrity who can work independently to conduct investigations and mitigate risk to the Company. The SI team investigates issues throughout the Company, which provides this position insight into all aspects of the business.
The minimum requirements we seek:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 10+ years of investigation experience in consulting, audit, finance, or compliance.
- 3+ years of investigation experience in the automotive, OEM supplier, or transportation manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required.
Our preferred requirements:
- Experience investigating a broad range of fraud allegations relating to purchasing, suppliers, accounting, conflict of interest, intellectual property, financial statements, and corporate policy violations.
- 3+ years experience managing cross-functional investigations and managing an investigations portfolio.
- Certified Fraud Examiner, ACFE, or Certified Internal Auditor, IIA.
- Proficient in using e-discovery and investigations software, preferably Relativity.
- Proficient in using case management software, preferably Archer.
- Experience at a multi-national corporation and working with a global team.
- Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
- Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization as well as external parties.
- Understanding the various compliance, legal, and regulatory issues that could affect an organization and connection to the compliance and legal community.
- Experience evaluating information to determine compliance with company policies and procedures, laws, and regulations.
- Experience with project management (planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of a specific project goals and objectives).

What you’ll be able to do:
- Assess allegations and properly scope and conduct investigations independently or as a team.
- Utilize and develop professional experience and knowledge of the appropriate, tailored investigation procedures, including investigative interviews and communication with complainants.
- Utilize and develop strong organization skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize changing workloads.
- Routinely engage with Company leadership and cross functional teams. Must be able to effectively deliver difficult or unpopular messages with diplomatic, solution-oriented approach.
- Collaborate with SI management to develop investigation strategy and workplan to ensure that investigations are completed timely.
- Provide timely and well synthesized investigation reporting and updates to management.
- Proficiently perform email review and other data analysis of collected information when necessary. Familiarity with Relativity is a plus.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders including the Office of General Counsel, People Matters, General Auditor’s Office, Internal Control, and others during the investigation and remediation phases.
- Support remediation both internally and externally as needed.
- Provide accurate and timely updates in case reporting system (RSA Archer GRC).
