Job Description

We currently have the following vacancies available:
3 x Full time Permanent
1 x Part time 18.5hrs Fixed Term for 12 Months
2 x Part time 18.5hrs fixed for 6 Months

JOB PURPOSE:
To provide direct high quality integrated family support and childcare services to children and young people as part of a family support/safeguarding plan, including kinship and foster carers, care leavers and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children where appropriate.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • NVQ level 3 in childcare qualification (NNEB/NVQ3) or equivalent
  • Previous experience of caring for children or young people in a personal, voluntary or statutory capacity or experience of working to protect and improve the life changes of children or young people
  • Experience in a social care setting
  • Experience of working with service users from different cultural backgrounds
  • Written skills sufficient to produce clear and accurate records.
  • Verbal and interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with children, young people, families, colleagues and professionals.
  • Able to encourage independence.
  • Ability to work in a multi-agency context.
  • Ability to understand and carry out Departmental instructions and procedures
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Ability to advise and support families and young people of domestic and personal care tasks
  • Able to apply principles of equal opportunities in practice
  • Able to travel to designated locations
  • Current driving licence and access to a car
