EQUANS are recruiting for a 2 new Team Leaders to join our brand-new team to be based in Birmingham at the site of Midland Metropolitan University Hospital. The project is building a brand-new hospital, Sandwell and is due to be completed in Autumn 2023. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £27,000 – £33,000 dependent, upon skills and experience and benefits package.
We are looking for 1 mechanical biased engineer & 1 electrical biased engineer, with experience & background of leading teams and understanding complex systems. The construction phase of the 9-story hospital is well underway and is due for completion in Autumn 2023. The main responsibility of the role to begin with is to assist the mobilization team in undertaking inspections to make sure the construction is up to the standard required. Once the site has been completed and the services has gone live, you will then be required to oversee the day-to-day general maintenance of the hospital & and be a part of the facilities management services.

What will you deliver?
- You will be required to review and assess various systems and equipment with regards to the resilience, accessibility, maintainability, and operation of the services installed
- Liaising with the client, construction team and EQUANS internal teams to ensure the completed facility is up to the required standard
- Develop an efficient maintenance service, in order to be effective from the start of operational delivery
- Assistance in development of planned maintenance systems and liaison with operational staff to provide training and familiarization
- To issue permits and manage safe systems of works as required including the review and monitoring of risk assessment and method statement for both in-house a sub-contractor staff
- Assist in ensuring appropriate stock levels and critical spares are maintained on site or available in an agreed timescales to ensure the service levels are not disrupted
- Directly manage the team to ensure they deliver the services required and are provided with the necessary support and resources
- Control available resources by managing Rota’s and annual leave

Who are we looking for?
- City and Guild or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering discipline
- Must have mechanical or electrical experience within a Healthcare environment preferably in a similar role involving delivery of maintenance services
- Must have 5 years post qualification experience
- Ideally have experience and ability to undertake an operational management role
- Experience of risk management and health and safety
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and industry guidelines
- GCSE / O Level Mathematics and English or equivalent
