Job Description
Do you want to play a vital role in delivering a high quality waste service to residents across the city? Do you want a rewarding role, working with a committed and hard working team? If so, this could be the role for you.
In this role,you will assist the Waste Operations Manager and Waste Supervisors to deliver a customer focussed, safe and efficient waste collection service. You will support the Waste Supervisors and be responsible for the management of staff, waste collection rounds, training and health and safety objectives. You will be required to co-ordinate the activities of the team to ensure this is met. You will also be responsible for undertaking driving assessments to ensure that all staff receive the appropriate training and ongoing development. You will also be required to drive a waste collection vehicle on occasion to ensure the service is delivered across the city. Please note that it is essential to hold a valid HGV licence to apply for this role.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
The duties of this post require the postholder to undertake a basic Criminal Record check (unspent convictions only) via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
