Position Overview
The Workforce Engagement and Instruction Specialist provides core content instruction to students based on industry standards and practices. This person plays an instrumental role carrying out organizational strategies regarding training development, delivery, and workforce enhancement. The Workforce Engagement and Instruction Specialist is also responsible for the placement and tracking of interns. Additionally, the specialist also works in tandem with program leadership and cross-department representatives to maximize academic achievement, retention, completion, certification, and placement outcomes to ensure overall health and integrity of the program.
Essential Duties
- Teaches Workforce Development curriculum in accordance with industry standards and practices to include providing instruction in synchronous group sessions based on student/trainee needs.
- Facilitates discussion forum to ensure student/trainee engagement and interaction.
- Develops, implements, and provides oversight of outreach and engagement strategies to strengthen community engagement with potential internship sites.
- Proactively monitors the performance of students/trainees and actively outreaches as needed.
- Provides academic feedback in a constructive, positive, and timely manner.
- Creates learning support tools to support students/trainees based on demonstrated needs.
- Is regularly active in assigned courses and hosts weekly office hours.
- Develops and sustain relationships with external stakeholders, including but not limited to Academic Institutions, City agencies, Third Party Vendors, Community Health Centers, Community-based Organizations, Advocacy Networks, etcetera.
- Responsible for the placement of interns at different locations.
- Maintains training records and tracks data required for improvement of training content and delivery.
Requirements:
Minimum three (3) years of experience and progressive growth in the field of instruction.- Undergraduate degree with an equivalent of 15 semester credit hours in the subject field. Graduate degree preferred.
- 0-1 years of experience in Coordination, Project Management, and/or Event Planning.
- Experience designing training curricula and materials.
- Experience in allied health, billing. coding, HIM, community health experience highly preferred
- CPC/CPB Certification highly desired – preference given to candidates with certifications
- Experience in the delivery of content to non-traditional students/trainees.
- Knowledge or familiarity with in-patient or out-patient workflows in the field of instruction.
- Familiarity with both Learning Management Systems, and Electronic Medical Record Systems (i.e. Epic).
- Experience and strength in developing productive partnerships with academic institutions, community organizations, students, third party vendors, and so forth.
- Experience with curriculum design and delivery of instruction.
- Experience in the coordination and management of internship/externship programs.

Base Pay Overview
The typical offer range for this role is minimum to midpoint, with the midpoint representing the average pay in a national market scope for this position. Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will consider a wide range of factors directly relevant to this position, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, responsibility, and experience, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
