Job summary

You’ll work with the Senior Creative Technical Lead on running our studio facility. Good knowledge of professional broadcast equipment is important, as is the ability to self-shoot when needed. We’re looking for someone creative and ready to be hands-on, assisting with the planning, production, filming and post-production of key content projects which supporting the big announcements made by UKHSA.

You’ll help to manage assistants on shoots and assist in the management of our YouTube channel.

Working with the wider content team, you’ll input on turning briefs into creative ideas and help to get projects off the ground. You’ll also advise communications colleagues on when and how to best use video.

Accessibility is key, and you’ll work with the team to ensure that our video content is tailored for the specific channels it will be promoted on. There will be opportunity to help upskill other staff members on how to film and edit short videos as well as educate colleagues on what makes good video content.

London based Hybrid Role

Job description

  • Assist with the running of two UKHSA studio spaces
  • Assist with the running of our UKHSA YouTube channel
  • Act as a lead for video projects alongside the Senior Technical Creative Lead
  • Assist with the planning, production, filming and post-production of key Content team multimedia projects
  • Management and directing of other video assistants as necessary, while on some multimedia shoots
  • Develop briefs into video concepts and advise on video outlines and scripts
  • Ensure our video content is accessible and tailored for each specific channel
  • Help with audio recording for voiceover on some projects

Key working relationships

This post sits within the content team in the communications directorate. The post holder will develop and maintain mutually beneficial working relationships within UKHSA and across some of key stakeholders, including at other Government departments. You’ll work closely with the Senior Technical Creative Lead, the Senior Creative Content Manager, Social Media Officer and our Graphic Designers and Animator.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area.

Knowledge and experience

  • Experience of working as a video producer
  • Good knowledge of industry standard design applications – Entire Adobe Creative Suite, DaVinci Resolve
  • Experience of video production and editing with a solid understanding of composition, formatting and post-production design
  • Experience of using initiative and creativity to find innovative solutions to communications challenges.
  • Experience of producing content tailored for use across social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
  • Passionate about best practice in video; keeps abreast of emerging design trends and technologies

Selection process details:

This vacancy is using Success Profiles and will assess your Behaviours, Experience, Strengths and Technical skills.

As part of the application process, you will be asked to provide a Statement of Suitability (in no more than 1000 words). This should outline how you consider your skills, experience and achievements, provide evidence of your suitability for the role, with particular reference to the essential criteria outlined.

STAGE 1 – APPLICATION & SIFT:

All candidates who are successful at the sift stage will undertake a single video interview.

All applicants that progress to interview will be assessed through an interview against a mixture of Behaviour, experience, strength and technical based questions.
