Job Description
St. Louis Parish is in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, located in beautiful rural Howard County, midway between Baltimore and Washington D.C. The Associate Youth Minister will be responsible for attracting and engaging youth and young adults through new and existing programs under the Catholic Youth Ministry Office. The Associate will work collaboratively with the Youth Ministry staff, the Faith Formation office, the School staff, and the Parish Staff. This position will be a full-time member of the pastoral staff and will report to Director of Youth Ministry.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate ministry for Youth and Young Adults (ages 18-35)
- Lead pastorate Summer Program
- Coordinate annual youth-led Italian Dinner fundraiser
- Support youth Retreat Programs (ages 12-18)
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Youth Ministry and members of the CYM office
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Must be an active Practicing Catholic fully able to participate in parish life.
- 2 to 5 years of youth ministry experience and/or theology-related degree preferred
- Knowledge consistent with Catholic teaching, theology, tradition, and doctrines
- Knowledge of adolescent faith development, engagement, and their social and cultural environment
- Ability to engage in one-to-one and group dynamics with young people, parents, & parish staff
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google tools, and social media
