Job Description
The goal of the Adjustment Counselor is to assist each student to develop new coping strategies that will decrease learned negative behaviors while at the same time increase new strategies for positive growth and success. The responsibilities of this School Adjustment Counselor will be to work with our most socially and emotionally challenged students. This includes being the therapeutic counselor for our ED/BD classroom both in and out of the general education classroom and being the liaison between the families, school, and outside agencies for these students. Social skills support for our other at risk students will also be part of this candidates responsibilities.
We are looking for someone to be actively involved in the work of Park Avenue Elementary School to be safe and supportive to all students and families. Familiarity with PBIS as a school wide behavioral support program would be helpful for the successful candidate.This positin is available October 19, 2022 through April 24, 2023
