Working for our organisation

With 15,000 staff, we are one of the biggest employers in the city with a central role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our local population. We play a leading role in research, education and innovation.

The East Midlands ‘Wolfson Cystic Fibrosis Centre’ at City Hospital is one of the newest purpose built centres with ground-breaking IT facilities.

NUH hosts the regional specialist Cystic Fibrosis adult service, providing care for patients from across the East Midlands (Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Lincolnshire) in a welcoming, caring, holistic and understanding environment.

Patients are supported and encouraged to manage their treatment to achieve their optimum quality of life.

We have a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals that provide inpatient and outpatient care.

The £6.6m Cystic Fibrosis Centre set a new benchmark for the way that patients are cared for when it opened in 2014.

The aim of the Centre is to transform the care of this unique group of young people by creating a « home in hospital », where they can not only receive all the treatment they need in one place, but also feel comfortable and ‘at-home’ during the long periods of time they have to spend in hospital.

We provide a mixture of outpatient care (patients may need seeing weekly and always monthly), community care (currently the home IV service and physiotherapy) and inpatient care.
