Job Description

The Digital, Data and Technology Services (DDTS) Recruitment Hub is recruiting a Digital and Technology Resourcing Partner.

We are seeking a leader that can provide strategic recruitment advice and mentor junior colleagues. You will be supporting DDTS in growing its permanent staff through resourcing, recruitment and retention initiatives.

We use creative talent attraction techniques, such as engaging with passive talent and proactive candidate sourcing, while embodying equality, diversity and inclusion in everything we do.

As a recruitment expert, you will be leading the way of modern recruitment and resourcing techniques across Defra Group. The Hub have an excellent reputation across Defra and are driving a shift in traditional public sector recruitment perspectives and being subject matter experts on Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) roles in government.

Partnering with vacancy holders across DDTS, you will be providing the best possible advice on recruitment whilst guiding them through the Civil Service recruitment process to attract permanent members of staff by building strong and meaningful relationships. You will use talent analytics and Applicant Tracking System (ATS) tools, that will help influence and advise our vacancy holders in a more effective way.

Responsibilities

  • Keep pace with industry standards to ensure the Recruitment Hub is working to best practice. Act as a trusted and respected voice of authority on recruitment by drawing upon industry expert knowledge and experience for niche and hard to fill digital and technology roles by using tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter or Boolean searching
  • Manage your own workload and prioritise the Recruitment Hub’s workload. Managing capacity and customer expectation by setting clear priorities and timescales
  • Provide excellent customer service by building trust and strong relationships with vacancy holders across the DDTS functions
  • Ensure DDTS remains aligned to Defra policy for recruitment, to include Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and Civil Service Recruitment Principles 2018, by working closely with Defra HR colleagues to ensure all regulatory compliance is adhered to
  • Using and managing the ATS and process to keep a log of all recruitment activity from vacancy approval through to onboarding
  • Manage risk and issues arising, offering pragmatic solutions to Recruitment Hub members and vacancy holders
  • Empower junior members of the team to make decisions by offering best practice advice and be a sounding board where necessary
  • Act as DDTS conduit to our recruitment and HR suppliers, Government Recruitment Service (GRS) and Shared Services Connected Limited (SSCL) , ensuring service standards are maintained

Skills and Experience

  • Industry standard recruitment best practice, external talent attraction and recruitment marketing, including ability to source candidates on LinkedIn Recruiter and use Boolean searching
  • Experienced of managing and delivering end-to-end recruitment process at pace and can work to tight deadlines to meet service level agreements
  • Mentoring junior colleagues on best recruitment practice and being an escalation point for complex recruitment queries
  • Senior stakeholder management and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with vacancy holders
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) such as Oleeo VX and Eploy
  • Ability to produce update reports on recruitment activity from ATS » and provide narrative to influence vacancy holders to appropriate recruitment strategies
