Elementary School Secretary/Registrar
Thornapple Elementary
Job Summary: Creates and maintains an efficient, cheerful and harmonious office environment to better serve the students, staff and families of the community. Maintain good public relations within the district and the community. Directly supports building principal and staff in the functioning of the school.
Qualifications:
- High School graduate
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required
- Strong customer service and secretarial skills required
- Knowledge of computer and word processing programs
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- Excellent attendance and punctuality
- Working knowledge of Powerschool, Microsoft Word, Excel and Google
- Experience managing school budgets preferred
- Testing on Microsoft Word and Excel and other skills may be required for this position
Job Functions:
- Filing progress reports, DAT, test scores, labels drop/add forms, etc.
- Answer phones and record messages
- Distribute counseling passes
- Type and distribute counselors’ correspondence
- Maintain the Career Resource Room, cataloging, checking materials in and out and keep materials organized
- Prepare daily announcements from the counseling office
- Purge senior cumulative files at the end of the year
- Copy transcripts for college applications, mid-year and final transcripts
- Typing and general clerical work
- Greet visitors
- Perform any other related duties as assigned
Terms of Employment: The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District. 42-week position.
Salary: Starting at Grade 4, Step 1, $16.53 per hour
Evaluation: In accordance with the Administrative Support Staff Agreement on evaluation.
