AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Scientist to be based in our Minneapolis, MN office. This position will support our EHS & Air team within our Environment business line.
This position is expected to begin in January 2023.
This is an entry-level position in AECOM’s Environment Business Line within the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Technical Practice Area. The Environmental Scientist will work under supervision of a project manager or senior level team member on a variety of EHS projects, including but not limited to environmental compliance plans, environmental permitting, environmental site assessments, and subsurface investigations.
The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:
- Work within our Environment business line as part of our EHS team.
- Assist with gathering and analyzing environmental data in both the field and office settings
- Assist in the preparation of investigation reports, assessments, permitting, and drawings
- Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, Geography, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required
- Valid U.S. Driver »s License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong technical background
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable meeting with clients, colleagues, and sub-contractors alike. Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Willingness and ability to learn and rapidly master new tasks.
- Strong research and report writing (including web-based research). Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Strong quality and time management. Solid attention to detail and thorough approach to work.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER training and 8-hour refresher training, as applicable
Additional Information
- Relocation is not available for this position.
- Travel is required for this position.
- Candidates will be asked to submit to a Motor Vehicle Record screening and/or drug screening upon hire.
