AECOM
is seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Scientist to be based in our Long Beach, CA office. This position will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line.

This position is expected to begin December/January 2022-2023.

Job Overview:

The Entry-Level Environmental Scientist will assist our Remediation team both in the field and in office, supporting soil and groundwater investigations and remediation projects. The ideal candidate will be willing and able to learn new skills and methods on challenging field and office assignments in a collaborative team environment.

We are seeking motivated candidate who would like to develop and advance in a full-time environmental remediation career. AECOM offers competitive salaries, excellent opportunities for professional development, and a competitive benefits package.

The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting environmental field work, including collecting soil, groundwater, and remediation system data, groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging and oversight of field surveys, drilling, well installation, development operations and utility clearance for intrusive operations.
  • Field document preparation, field data collection, processing, and interpretation.
  • Supporting office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation.
  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance
  • Travel to project locations including driving and overnight stays.
  • Position will require OSHA 40-hour hazardous site worker training

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Soil Sciences, or related field.
  • Valid U.S. Driver »s License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HAZWOPER 40 Hr Training
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • 0-2 years of related work experience.

  • Relocation is not available for this position.

  • Travel is required for this position.
