Job Title: SNAP PEAS Coordinator
Reports To: Associate Director of Client Services
Status: OT Non-exempt (Hourly) / Full Time / Permanent
Pay Range: $25.62 – 28.35 per hour

The Client Services Department is on the front line of this work, connecting people in need to available food resources. We do this work through our statewide multilingual Food Resource Hotline, Mobile Outreach which provides these services face-to-face throughout the Denver metro area, and SNAP PEAS (Partners Engaging in Application Services) program. SNAP PEAS is a network of partners across the state which we empower and support to provide SNAP outreach as part of their work.
Job Summary
Hunger Free Colorado is seeking a mission-driven, highly motivated, and compassionate SNAP PEAS Coordinator to:
- Provide training to HFC Statewide Partners
- Collaborate with other coordinators to provide general and technical support when required
- Develop and improve supporting materials in English and Spanish for videos and program update content
- Support in sending communications to Partners about advocacy opportunities, specific training, systems updates, and other useful information
- Build strong and lasting relationships with partner organizations
- Explore possible improvements to SNAP PEAS training, supports, best practices and outreach
- Lead and participate in meetings like Leadership, CDHS Outreach Partners, Coordinator’s best practices, and Communities of Practice
- Receive, track and report, SNAP PEAS monthly reports, changes on their staff, compliance, and data
The coordinator will often be the first and only interaction many of our partner navigators have with Hunger Free Colorado. This role will have a large degree of autonomy when interacting with SNAP PEAS partners.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
(40%) SNAP PEAS Support and Assistance – Act as the primary contact for SNAP PEAS partners to support them on troubleshooting, assistance with the counties, the State or client’s questions. Support other coordinators training new and existing SNAP outreach partners on the technology, process, and basic eligibility requirements to perform SNAP application support.
(20%) SNAP PEAS Data and reports management – Receive, track and report, SNAP PEAS monthly reports, changes on their staff, compliance, and data.
(20%) Develop, improve and update Support Materials / Develop new opportunities for partners – In partnership with the other coordinators and the Associate Director, identify gaps in our training/support and opportunities to improve the support we provide. Develop and update materials to fill those gaps, including but not limited to desk aids, training materials, and instructional videos. Explore possible improvements to SNAP PEAS best practices and outreach.
(10%) Participate and lead key meetings – Lead and participate in meetings like Leadership, CDHS Outreach Partners, Coordinators best practices, and Communities of Practice.
(10%) Other Duties – Other related assignments as necessary, which may include occasional evening or weekend work/meetings. See details below in Work Environment section.
Required Qualifications
- Passion for, and commitment to, the mission, vision and values of Hunger Free Colorado
- Minimum Bilingual with full fluency in English and Spanish
- Experience in key software, such as:
- PEAKPro
- SalesForce
- Zoom and Teams (or equivalent video conferencing software)
- Microsoft Office
- Established working knowledge of:
- SNAP
- General State and County Human Service practices
- Comfort in proactive solicitation and integration of feedback from partners and individuals, including those with both longstanding and new relationships
- Comfort in supporting partners with compliance training and follow through
- Comfort in providing technical assistance to partners
- Ability to thrive while working independently and comfortable acting with self-direction and knowing when to ask for guidance
- Ability to thrive and work closely within a team environment and excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to perform with flexibility, patience, and thoughtfulness
- Comfort in presenting to and training large groups
- Comfort in representing employer and program in internal meetings as well as external meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience training external organizations on SNAP application assistance
- Previous experience developing training materials within a SNAP context
- Proficient in use of CBMS (Colorado Benefits Management System)

The successful candidate will be comfortable with self-direction yet quick to ask for assistance when they don’t know an answer. They will be approachable and responsive, but comfortable holding partners accountable when necessary (with support of the Associate Director of Client Services). They will excel at developing compelling training materials and in delivering trainings to a wide audience with diverse learning styles, keeping the end-user experience top of mind. Most of all, the successful candidate will be interested in, and good at, building trusting and lasting relationships with our SNAP PEAS partners.
Work Environment
- This position will operate in a hybrid fashion, both in-person and remotely through Microsoft office platforms.
- Ability to work in a variety of community-based settings with individuals from various races, backgrounds,
- cultures, political and religious views
- All positions are required to be Colorado-based during and after remote work.
- Ability to attend sites, meetings, and events within the Denver Metro area.
- Willingness to work a varied schedule beyond core office hours, including occasional evening and weekend events. If occasional evening and weekend work are needed, employees will be encouraged to adjust their schedule and take “flex” time to ensure reasonable work balance. Otherwise, any work over 40 hours will need supervisor approval and will be paid as overtime for hourly employees.

Compensation & Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.62 – 28.35 per hour, or approximately $53,298.00 – 58,968.00 per year, depending on hours worked.
