Role Description

This is a key role within the Executive Operations Department contributing to an exciting and diverse portfolio led by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Partnerships and Engagement. The post holder works across the Pro-Vice-Chancellor »s portfolio providing executive support and designing and delivering projects in three key areas: stakeholder engagement; equality, diversity and inclusivity and enterprise. The Executive Operations Department provides all the administrative support to the Vice-Chancellor and Senior Officers of the University of York and ensures that their responsibilities are fulfilled in an effective manner.

Role

To support the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Partnerships and Engagement, by providing a wide range of project and administrative services. This role is both inward and outward facing and will work closely with all areas of the University, and in particular the External Relations and Research Innovation and Knowledge Exchange teams. The post holder will have an opportunity to develop strong working relationships with external partners and develop a programme of events to raise the visibility and impact of the University »s work in the above areas.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications needed

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be involved at the heart of the University of York’s central leadership team. You will be supporting the development and delivery of the institution’s strategic goals and helping to make a real impact across the university.

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, who can develop an understanding of various competing priorities and ensure that senior management time and focus is maximised. Ideally you’ll have experience of providing support at a senior level and demonstrate first rate problem solving skills to ensure logistical challenges can be anticipated and overcome.

You’ll need to be capable of independent working at times while also building your own networks both across the university and with external stakeholders as you work to deliver on a variety of projects. We »re looking for someone to join our team and make a real contribution.
