Job Title: Jointer (HV/LV)
Base Location: M4 Corridor
Salary: Up to £46,963 + all PPE, specialist tools, company Van a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing including additional training and authorisations as needed.
Potential for additional earnings via optional Overtime and Call Out rotas.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time
What will I be doing in this role?
We’re looking for a HV/LV Jointer to join the Power Networks team who are rapidly growing, winning new work and delivering excellent results to our customers.
In this role you can expect to be;
- Carrying out a wide variety of cable jointing activities at LV, 11kV and ideally 33kV, including HV Construction, Maintenance & Repairs activities on both DNO & Private Networks
- High voltage jointing works including terminations, jointing and earth installations.
- Low voltage work includes jointing mains and service cables in addition to terminating solidal connections.
- Carrying out jointing and cabling work for new connections, supply restoration, major projects Primary »s, and diversions on a pre-planned and quick response basis.
- setting out from drawings and specifications to establish the requirements of a project
- Working in a wider team with Project Engineers, SAP’s, AP’s and Civils crews to achieve goals
- Compliance to policies and procedures- most importantly adhering to our core value of ‘If its not safe, we don’t do it’
Overall you will be working and building a career in a supportive team, with a strong sense of development, focus on safety and process improvement, and where your input counts.
What do I need to be successful in the role?
- Experience of carrying out cable jointing tasks on a wide variety of different type of equipment and the ability to adapt and follow instructions when confronted by non-familiar apparatus.
- SSEN Authorisations are essential to 11kV, to 33kV would be an advantage
- A good working knowledge of HV Network construction
- The ability to work as part of a team to deliver highly complex and challenging work
- A high degree of pride in producing high quality work
- Ability to work flexibly to respond to project or customer needs including emergency callouts or out of hours shutdowns
- Have formal Jointing qualifications (High or Low Voltage).
- Hold CSCS or similar card.
- Full UK Driving Licence
