Job Summary

The primary focus of the billing representative is to accurately process charges according to payor specific contracts in accordance with CHOP, CHHC policy and all regulatory and accrediting agency guidelines. Work with interdisciplinary team to ensure that all documentation required to generate claims has been obtained prior to submission.

Job Responsibilities

Accurately post, edit and generate all claims for Home Care services.
Review hold reports to ensure that services are billed for timely, accurately and hold edits are completed.
Ensure all documentation necessary for accurate billing is obtained.
Verifies that all the proper coding and charge information is entered in the system according to payor specific contracts following regulatory guidelines.
Assist in obtaining/maintaining department’s cash goals.
Perform all reimbursement functions in accordance with CHOP, CHHC policy and regulatory and accrediting agency guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations

Required Education and Experience

High School Graduate and/or equivalent GED

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Previous health care billing experience preferred

Additional Technical Requirements

Previous health care billing experience preferred. Strong verbal, communications and organizational skills
Basic application and computer skills
Strong data entry skills
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
