Job Description

Overview:

The Learning & Development Program Manager manages internal, inter-departmental and external partnerships to ensure effective implementation of learning development and learning initiatives. They will lead the administration of the Academy for Inclusive Excellence, Middle Manager Boot Camp, Employee Electives, Team Building Trainings, and all other system-wide learning opportunities as they are developed.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the administration, scheduling and coordination for all learning related to the Academy for Inclusive Excellence, Middle Manager Boot Camp, Employee Electives, Team Building Trainings, and all other system-wide learning opportunities as they are developed.
  • Collaborates with Clinical Education team/Office of Professional Practice and Patient Experience team to plan the annual learning calendar for the UofL Health System.
  • Leads instructional design of program courses.
  • Partners with the HR Site Teams teams to understand the needs of the units where they serve, and to communicate and implement programs in their facilities.
  • Partners with the Knowledge Hub administrator to ensure that all scheduled learning courses and workshops are effectively set up to allow participants to access and complete the courses.
  • Partners with the Office of Professional Practice to ensure that all applicable learning earns KBN CE credits, and partner with other teams to ensure their field credits are earned as well.
  • Facilitates the leaders’ and employees’ assessments as foundations to their learning experiences.
  • Facilitates and reviews employee registration and participation in the courses.
  • In the case of face-to-face facilitation, reserves the room and ensures that technology and other resources are functioning effectively ahead of the class/workshop.
  • In the case of virtual learning, ensures that access links to courses and materials are available for facilitators and participants.
  • Liaises with external partners such as the University of Louisville College of Education, College of Medicine, Department of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion to coordinate facilitation and other learning related activities for UofL Health.
  • Evaluates program effectiveness by implementing Kirkpatrick’s Training Evaluation Model.
  • Collects and analyzes program data using Excel or similar software
  • Effectively communicates upcoming programs/courses and schedules using various media, in collaboration with the Marketing Department.
  • Facilitates classes that are within the Learning & Development Program Manager’s

expertise.

  • Coaches leaders and employees using validated methods.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Development, Organizational

Development, Higher Education, Instructional Design, or other related degree (required)

  • Master’s degree (preferred)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-years training and/or onboarding and orientation experience required.
  • Experience in project/program management a plus.
