Job Description
TITLE: MYP Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid teacher’s certificate.
- Five years’ teaching experience.
- IB experience preferred, but not required.
REPORTS TO:
- School Principal
- District IB Coordinator
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Actively coordinates the IB program at Williams with the IBO and Florence 1.
- Responsible for IB student recruitment, and the application process including school visits, and hosting open houses.
- Responsible for the implementation and daily needs of the IB.
- Maintains current knowledge of developments in the IB program.
- Is up to date with IB practices and standards.
- Assists PYP teachers through observations, conferences, demonstrations, etc.
- Ensures that teachers and candidates are informed of current program content and subject requirements through weekly grade level meetings.
- Assists with curriculum, instruction, supervision, and staff development for the IB.
- Disseminates information concerning the philosophy, curriculum, and implementation of the IB to parents, students, and the community.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 200-day contract; Teacher Salary Scale plus stipend. Salary and work year to be established by the district (2021-2022).
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board »s policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
