OSS Order Management Designer
Location: Newbury HQ (Blended working home & office)
Salary: £Competitive + Bonus and Benefits
Hours: 37.5 Hours a week

Role purpose
The OSS Order Management Designer is accountable to the Team Lead for designing Order Management solutions to ensure good functionality, security, resilience and performance of the systems. The OM Designer is the technical authority to OSM, UIM and ASAP system configuration, development and deployment within the Domain and will advise and collaborate with colleagues in E2E architecture, development, test and operations teams to ensure the CCS Engineering Domain continues to deliver high levels of quality and service to internal stakeholders. The OM Designer will contribute to design and development work on the systems, working collaboratively with onshore and offshore teams and will advise senior management within the domain to help drive continuous improvement to Domain function and services and to shape Domain technical strategy.
Responsibilities
- Domain authority for OM solutions, advising architecture, build and operations colleagues within the domain on correct design, configuration, deployment and usage of the systems
- Accountable to the Domain Lead to plan good functional and non-functional behavior of the platform. Plan and build designs for optimized solutions, security, capacity and performance. Assess technical risks and issues on the systems. Work with operations and build team colleagues to ensure resolution of technical issues in a timely manner.
- Contribute to design and development on the OM platforms, collaborating with onshore and offshore designers and developers
- Work together with others in the management team to ensure good quality and good value is delivered by the Domain to Vodafone stakeholders and drive continuous improvement
- Close co-operation with the Business, IT and Technology Architecture & Design community across Vodafone.
Who are we looking for?
- All-round practical expertise with OSM,UIM and/or ASAP systems, preferably including design and development experience with these systems.
- Good general technical understanding of telecommunications architecture.
- Engineering knowledge in Oracle’s Rapid Service Design and Order Delivery” (RSDOD) solution. In particular, OSM and UIM.
- Ability to communicate effectively within a large software engineering team and influence a wide group of internal stakeholders. Experience of working successfully with external delivery teams.
- Experience in managing technical risks and forecast systems improvement requirements, along with good general software engineering and problem solving skills
