Brief Description
To support the identification, design and delivery of change projects aligned to route strategy, through the use of problem-solving techniques and utilisation of data driven insight, working with the Project Manager, Function Leads, Executive Sponsors and their representatives
Please note that this is a 6-month fixed-term opportunity.
About the role (External)
Key Accountabilities
1. Support the identification of process failure and inefficiency across Network Rail through analysing data insight across multiple sources, turning into meaningful insight which can be actioned to drive improvement
2. Perform root cause investigations into agreed problems, through the use of process improvement tools and methodologies to understand their scope, size and business impact.
3. Support the development and delivery of process, system and people change projects in compliance with company processes and procedures.
4. Support the production of project management plans for change projects.
5. Establish and manage collaborative cross-functional virtual teams to deliver change projects, where appropriate.
6. Deliver regular progress reports on change projects, including relevant risks and issues, to Project Manager, Functional Leads and Sponsors.
7. Promote and monitor the use of efficiency improvement methods.
Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Experience of working in change projects
- Understanding of applying project methodologies
Desirable
- Educated to degree level
- Member of project association
- Commercial and financial awareness.
- Knowledge of the principles of investment processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of/experience in the UK rail industry.
- Strong data analysis skills, strong excel knowledge, ability to work with complex data sets
- Demonstrable application of continuous improvement techniques e.g. LEAN
- Experience of using developing tools such as Power Apps or Power BI
