Job Description

3C ICT is our shared IT service between Cambridge City Council, Huntingdonshire District Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council. Our team of 80+ staff provide a range of services from digital development and integration to server management and maintenance as well as standard desktop and business application support. On a day-to-day basis, we manage and deliver all the IT systems and services needed by our partners and customers. We are a modern IT Operation utilising Office 365, Microsoft Azure, DevOps and other up to date applications.

An opportunity has arisen in 3C ICT where we are looking to recruit a Spatial Data Officer to join our dynamic Spatial team. The role will help deliver an outstanding GIS and Address Management service and play a significant role in 3C ICT’s responsibilities to provision Geographic information (GI) as well as development and implementation of the Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG) on behalf of the 3 council partners.

This role would suit candidates with experience providing GIS and address database related duties. The successful candidate will have knowledge in maintaining the Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG) service on behalf of a local authority. You will need experience in assisting with providing geospatial data management, map production and ideally maintenance of GIS web content. A proven track record of providing technical GIS support to partner services in a customer focused environment and knowledge of UK Location Programme; INSPIRE and other governmental policies specific to geographic information are also highly desirable.

This diverse and rewarding role, will require you to work closely with the Spatial Team, as well as across the whole of 3C ICT. Ensuring that the Spatial and Address Managements services supported by the ICT Shared Service are maintained to the highest possible standard with maximum levels of attainable productivity and efficiency.

This is a full-time fixed term 12-month contract with option to make it permanent subject to funding.

Our vision is to help our Council partners standardise, automate, integrate and optimise their IT systems to help them gain the best possible business benefit from their investment whilst maintaining the strictest standards of security, privacy and flexibility. This approach also helps them realise the combined economies of scale of working in a local government partnership.

Ultimately our work improves outcomes for local residents and businesses giving our staff the opportunity to feel that they are contributing to the local area in a positive way and supporting those most at need through difficult times.
