Job Description
- Strategy
- Works with Supply Chain leaders/staff and KOP leaders to align and implement strategic plans for the Supply Chain operations at KOP.
- Keeps abreast of industry best practices related to healthcare SC. Is informed and knowledgeable of industry trends that could impact supply availability or supplier service performance, i.e., supply and equipment innovations, Group Purchasing Organizations, developments in the supplier community, supply resiliency, CPI/PPI, and world events.
- Communicates the vision and priorities of the department to leaders and stakeholders at KOP
- Establishes metrics and goals to track progress of Supply Chain and local KOP initiatives.
- Leads medium to large projects as needed and serves as a Subject Matter Expert advisor to departmental leaders.
- May serve as the Supply Chain Safety leader. On a rotational basis, manages the daily safety huddle and reports out on CHOP Daily Operations Huddle. Covers weekly on-call rotation to coordinate and respond to emergency events or operational issues and respond to leadership concerns.
- Budget Formulation/Management
- Works with SC and KOP leaders to forecast, develop, and manage SC and non-labor expenses to targeted budget. Budgetary responsibility exceeds $2.7M
- Operational Management
- Develops specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of CHOP, KOP and the Supply Chain program.
- Develops clear channels of communication with SC & KOP leaders and key stakeholders to facilitate open, transparent, and effective communications and promoting safety behaviors.
- Responsible for continual process improvements related to productivity, customer service, and expense reduction
- Tracks key performance metrics
- Works jointly with suppliers and internal clients to improve integrated processes
- Influences internal clients to adhere to policies and best practices
- Influences behavior related to spend optimization
- Coordinates critical supply activities
- Takes necessary action for product conversions, recalls, or supply interruptions to mitigate impact on patient care or safety.
- Is responsible for KOP specific supplier relationships and escalates issues to the appropriate Supply Chain team as needed
- Facilitates & coordinates activities with CHOP Value Analysis team
- Ensures receiving or delivery issues are resolved, escalating as needed
- Supports Procurement and Contracting processes
- Serves as the subject matter expert for KOP leaders and staff for any procurement or contracting issues, escalating as needed.
- Coordinates or conducts training for KOP leaders and staff on SC systems, including, WorkDay, Coupa, Par Ex & Qlik
- Supports KOP leaders with capital equipment planning and submission
- Promotes and supports effort related to CHOP’s Supplier Diversity Program.
- Oversees and supports Logistics for KOP
- Acts as an internal consultant providing guidance and support to internal customers and Materials Distribution Team to ensure efficient movement supplies and equipment within CHOP network as needed.
- Responds to customer complaints in a timely fashion and takes necessary action to rectify problems
- Responsible for effectively forging professional relationships within KOP and across Supply Chain
- Rounds and meets with leaders and key stakeholders to obtain feedback, establish goals, set priorities, and provide follow up
- Manages suppliers to ensure compliance to CHOP policies
- Collaborates with Supply Chain colleagues, including Materials Distribution Team, Receiving, Mailroom, Copy Center, Value Analysis and Procurement & Contracting

- Supports the development and achievement of professional and personal goals for supply chain staff and self. Enables employee development and growth by building out individual skills, knowledge, and experience to ensure team members can effectively help each other and maximize the team’s collective ability to advance defined objectives.

- Bachelor »s Degree
- At least three (3) years in Supply Chain or Procurement operations.
- At least three (3) years management or project management experience
- Master »s Degree
- At least five (5) years of Supply Chain or Procurement experience
- At least five (5) years of progressive management experience
- Change management expertise – black belt or similar certification
- Knowledge of supply chain operations, including procurement, logistics, ERP applications, reporting & analytics.
- Knowledge of Value Analysis process in a healthcare environment is preferred.
- Possesses excellent communication skills at multiple levels of the enterprise. Ability to prepare and present presentations and financial analysis to senior leaders.
- Able to motivate and facilitate teams to successful resolution of challenging issues.
- Excellent project management skills, knowledge, and experience. Ability to effectively interact and collaborate successfully with people of all levels in a matrixed organization.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills; detail oriented and hands-on performer.
- Experience leading cross functional teams in complex activities across departmental and entity boundaries.
