Working hours are Monday-Friday 8am-4pm.
As a Team Co-ordinator within Sample Preparation you will train technicians in all sample preparation methods to the required levels of quality and productivity. You will also support the Team Leader and Team Co-ordinator in the development and performance management of the sample preparation team.
Duties include:
- Prepare samples in accordance with standard operating procedures and in accordance with standards of quality and the requirements of ISO17025.
- Ensure technicians are trained to a level of competence and are kept up to date with any/all changes to preparation methods – maintaining continuous training.
- Update training records and training matrix on regular basis.
- Perform SOP reviews and assist with writing and updating SOPs.
- Support Team Leader in writing and updating SSOW documents and risk assessments.
- Support Team Leader in the day to day supervision of technicians, deputising as required, including daily team meetings, the continuous improvement of preparation methods and ways of working to increase productivity and efficiency, including 5S practises.
- Driving continuous improvement of the area
- Provide support for Team Leader in achieving daily targets and KPI’s.
- Resolve or escalate all risks/threats to TAT performance and to manage short/rush TAT following on from notifications.
- Resolve or escalate all risks/threats to Quality performance.
- Ensure any non-conforming works are completed in a timely manner.
- Provide cover for Team Co-ordinator, responsible for ensuring smooth operation of the sample loading and preparation to meet the required TAT.
- Maintain stock levels of consumable items for methods being undertaken by ordering and receipting via Coupa.
- Responsible for ensuring that UK health and safety legislation is maintained and helping to ensure that the working environment is kept in a clean and tidy manner.
- Participate in recruitment activities including reviewing CVs and participating in interviews.
- Knowledge of Laboratory Quality Manual in order to ensure compliance at all times with the policies, procedures and associated documents which are referred to in the manual.
- Provide a high level of internal and external customer care.
- Educated to GCSE level in Maths & English
- Experience of working in a fast moving production environment
