Looking for a new role where you can make a difference every day? We’re looking for a kind, compassionate and resilient Waking Night Housing Officer to join our Young People service in Ashford

£22,983.00 per annum, working 40 or 30 hours per week, pro rata plus 25 days Annual Leave pro rata, Pension schemes, staff discounts, healthcare and career progression.

We’re looking for a Waking Night Housing Officer to join our Young People service.

Waking Night Housing Officer provides first contact and safeguarding to the customers during night-time hours. This includes providing a high level of customer service, recognising safeguarding concerns, identifying and reporting risks to people, report writing and providing handovers

  • Providing a welcoming and responsive presence to customers and visitors and ensuring their safety and the safety of the building is maintained at all times
  • Carry out welfare checks on customers where required
  • Ensuring ongoing assessment and management of risks associated with customers within an attitude of ‘positive risk taking’
  • Managing the security of the scheme and monitoring the CCTV system.
  • Reporting repairs and managing immediate remedial to defects if an urgent health and safety matter arises
  • Accurately recording interactions with clients and report customer incidents

Job Overview:

The Concierge Officer will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the building throughout times when support staff are not on site.

You will be part of an existing rota which consists of a full time and part time role. The full-time role will be 40 hours and consist of 4 nights on and 3 nights off and a 30-hour role consisting of 3 nights on and 4 nights off, operating between the hours of 9.30pm-7.30am

Person Specification:

  • A commitment to engaging with vulnerable young people with varying levels of support needs.
  • The ability to maintain a calm and assertive approach when faced with complex and challenging situations, including building safety, anti-social behaviour and complaints
  • Enjoys social interaction and the company of others, joins in local activities to encourage customer involvement
  • Exudes a warm friendly presence and open behaviour
  • Ability to use initiative and think outside the box due to this lone working role, whilst demonstrating your ability to share information and form part of the wider team.
  • Have a practical and logical mind and naturally well organized
  • Thrives on change and enjoys dynamic diverse environments
